We hit the road the moment we could. But at the time, that moment couldn’t come any sooner.

Much of our year was spent at a hacker space behind youtube and power tools. The time spent followed an exponential curve. At first it was weekends, then it became daily and what followed was a relentless period of work. It was timeless. But time passed and we eventually hit the road. As free as our savings allowed us to be. Jobless, houseless but free.

Our first destination was Alabama. Horse pen 40 to be exact. It was early May and the nights were cool and the days were hot. HP40 was a respite from building the van while also being the most intense boulders sesh I have ever attempted. Many of the warm up problems have proven themselves to be stout for my unconditioned self. Yet, I found this to be inspiring.

After BAMA we headed towards Kansas city, MO. Along the way we stopped and hit shawnee national forestwe didn’t know what to expect but the rock formations were truly memorable. This link highlights some of the neat formations.

Creeks are the source of so much of my adventures, i’m going to get its essences tattooed on me one day. Here I am tenkara fishing and enjoying the waterfall. This day was lively to say the least. We arrived and some teens were cooking hotdogs on a grill they brought across the river. They invited us over to have some and told us to not cliff dive since its dangerous and proceed to show us exactly how to cliff dive this area and not get hurt.
